Position Summary:
Support new product development by working closely with the engineering team in the development and testing of DSP/Comms algorithms. Assist senior engineers in planning and preparing for field test campaigns and product deployment. Responsible for analyzing, compiling and reporting the data to management and engineering staff.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute internal test plans to verify and validate new product requirements and acceptance criteria. Utilizing C/C++, TCL/Tk, Python, Perl and Matlab.
- Develop lab automation software in working with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
- Drive improvements in existing test systems and develop future test systems used to assess NextNav product
- Conduct technology validation trials, operate test tools and implement demonstration systems.
- Document results that may include assisting in performing data analysis and creating reports that document findings.
- Applying sound engineering principles, techniques and procedures to the analysis, review and modification of the NextNav product in collaboration with R&D and Systems Engineering.
- Keeping and maintain test records
- Work with engineering to analyze and solve problems identified in field test campaigns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum of a MSEE with 5 plus years of industry experience years of experience
- Fluency in MatLab, TCL/Tk, Python, Perl and C/C++
- Experienced with Product Verification testing
- Solid background in the fundamentals of cellular systems and GPS
- Experience in working with lab automation and test equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes
- Experienced with implementing and writing validation protocols and reports
- Superb documentation practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with confidence in a complex, evolving environment.
