Position Summary:
Design and define the software architecture for NextNav’s 3GPP/3GPP2 compliant location stack (SUPL/J-STD-036 etc) on the client side. Work with third parties to implement these stacks. Be the primary software interface to customers and operators.
Essential Functions:
- Design and define an end to end reference architecture for NextNav’s location stack compliant to SUPL/J-STD-036/LPP etc
- Write detailed HLD/LLD documents
- Manage 3rd parties to define and build the system
- Provide concise and accurate communications to executive team relating to Engineering Status and issues
- Write whitepapers and reference guides as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- BE/BS or MS/ME Computer Science with at least 10-15 years of experience in Software development
- Minimum 10+ engineering management experience
- Experience working on location systems such as AGPS is a plus
- Familiarity with 3GPP/3GPP2 location protocols
- Direct experience with developing and managing scalable software solutions
- Experience working on integration with phone platforms such as Android is a plus
- Excellent communications skills and demonstrated ability to lead a team while being hands-on at the same time.
